Cacao Tea


Introducing our Cacao Husk Tea, a delicious and sustainable beverage made from the part of the cacao beans that don’t make it into the chocolate. This has a lovely and unique flavor profile that combines earthy and subtly sweet notes with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts.

Not only does Cacao Tea taste great, but it also brings health benefits to the table. Packed with antioxidants it supports a healthy immune system. The presence of theobromine provides a natural boost to mental alertness and well-being, without the jittery effects of caffeine.

Because this is a mix of cacao husk from our roasting and chocolate making process, the mix will vary and may taste slightly different from bag to bag.

It can be enjoyed Hot or Iced, with or without Milk/Cream, with/without Sugar or Sweetener, and steeped Hot or done as a Cold Brew Tea!

Prepare it the way you would any other Loose Leaf tea. Adding milk brings out more of the chocolate flavors. Without milk you’ll have a balance between dark chocolate and herbal nutty notes similar to a Barley tea.

Cacao Tea Preparation

Steep 1-1.5 Tbsp (4-6g) in 1 Cup of hot water for 4-8 minutes, as you would with a loose-leaf tea.

Add 1 Tbsp of Unrefined Sugar Cane (Panela, Sucanat, etc) or your choice of Sugar/Sweetener.

You can drink it hot, add some milk, or chill in the fridge and serve cold or over ice.

Prepared this way, this 6oz bag makes 28 Cups of Tea!
