Datil Pepper is a Florida Pepper, originally grown in St Augustine (where our Datil Pepper comes from as well!), and has a Scoville rating over 330,000 (similar to a Habanero). We love it when we get to showcase our local Florida agriculture!
What makes it special is the unique fruity flavor that complements the natural fig jam notes of the Ugandan cacao, and also that the heat sits further back in your throat like a fine whiskey, leaving your tongue free and clear to enjoy the flavor of the chocolate itself.
After countless requests for a spicy chocolate, we think we nailed it with this one. Give it a try! It’s unlike anything you’ve ever tried before.
Note: Heat level is somewhere around Medium+, but it won’t burn up your tongue like a thai chili, and it doesn’t tend to build, so you can enjoy the chocolate without worrying that it’ll get overwhelming with each bite.
