Our Tanzanian cacao is so versatile and universally loved by all our customers, that we use it in everything from our 70% Quinoa Crunch to our Award Winning Milk Chocolate and Oat Milk Chocolate‘s. It only made sense for this to be our latest sipping chocolate offering. It’s light, bright, no bitterness to speak of, and keeps things interesting with complex citrusy undertones. Yet, it still offers that comforting feeling of a nice hot chocolate in front of the fireplace on a cold winters day, or the perfect drink to sip on heading out to work.

Sipping Chocolate is to a mug of Hot Chocolate as Espresso is to Coffee – an intense, indulgent experience that is meant to be savored one sip at a time. Take a sip and let the flavors of the single-origin chocolate saturate your palate.

Our Sipping Chocolate comes in a resealable bag of crumbled up, untempered chocolate, and melts easily in hot milk or dairy alternatives. We always recommend using an electric milk frother to fully mix chocolate into milk for the smoothest experience.

Traditional Style

Gently heat up 2oz of Whole Milk to ~140F
(We recommend Oat Milk for a Dairy Free option)

Stir in 28g (1 oz) of Sipping Chocolate until melted.
(Add Raw Sugar if you prefer a sweeter experience)

Mix with an Electric Milk Frother to best combine the melted chocolate and milk.
(If you don’t have one, you can use a small whisk or a fork)

Feeling adventurous?

Try adding…

a pinch of Sea Salt
a Shot of Espresso
Whipped Cream or Marshmallows on top
a dash of Cinnamon

For a more traditional “hot chocolate” experience, simply use more milk (we use 1oz chocolate to 8oz milk in our café hot chocolate’s). There’s no “correct way” to enjoy chocolate. Be creative and tag your creation with @sandhillchocolate on Instagram or Facebook!
